Trying to get into some good schools

hi
i'm a high school senior from india, but i am a permanent resident of the US.
i've applied to a few high-profile schools - UC-Berkeley, Rice, and some others... and i can't schedule an interview.
i got a 2210(was a bit disappointed by that but i didn't take the tests again) in the SAT and 770(Math level 2), 780(Physics and Chemistry) in the subject tests...
i know admission depends on a lot more than SAT scores - i've done pretty well in school (my school doesn't calculate GPA though)... i'm usually ranked first or second...
i have a lot of ECA - i was a quizmaster for several interschool contests, and i've won lots of oratorical competitions, i've also held 2 posts in my school council, i've volunteered in blood donation camps and the like, i play the violin, i'm a member of my school basketball team...
i've worked hard on the essays too.
i also got two 0.1%(for being in the 99.9th percentile at the national level) certificates for my 10th Grade CBSE exam (in English and Social Studies)...

a few things stand out about my application, such as the fact that
i've grown up in 4 countries (S'pore, Malaysia, India and the US) and so i've come across a lot of different kinds of people...

i'm looking at getting into engineering.
so,
anyone think i have a chance??? (i'm trying for Texas at Austin and A&M too)
(please say yes!!! :-))

What do you guys think about MIT?

i'm really nervous, and i'd be glad if one of u could tell me what u think...

What state are you a resident of (if any)?

If OOS: UCB: Slight reach/match
If in-state: UCB: Match/safe match

i'm in-state for Texas, OOS for California...

MIT's my dream school - it would be great if i could get in there...
i think my school grades are good enough, and i've given my very best on the essays... and i'm very confident that my teachers gave me excellent recommendations
i think i've given them the best impression i can of myself.
and what about Stanford and UCLA?

i came across the fact that Purdue takes in 85% of its applicants and i was shocked!
US news ranks them in the top ten for engineering - so who can explain this anomaly? (are students in Indiana all Einsteins in the making?)
thanks in advance for your replies

UCLA: Slight reach/match
Stanford: Slight reach

are you sure purdue is top 10? i thought they were 80something overall.

karan89, they are ranked 8th for Engineering, and 64 overall...

anyone have any schools i can definitely get into???

what exactly do you guys mean by slight reach?
does it mean i have an 80% chance of getting in, or is it closer to 20?

come on guys............................

eatersauce:

UCB/UCLA: Slight Reach (out of state, Engineering)

Why doesn't anyone talk about Texas?
