So I'm currently a physics major at ucla, but I'm switching to Mathematics of Computation- for the major, PIC 10A is a required class. PIC 10A is totally full though. However, CS 31 is an accepted substitute. I know CS 31 is normally reserved for engineering students, but does anyone know how/if I can petition to enroll in CS 31?
Thanks

Some professors may be generous enough to give you a PTE number that allows you to override the enrollment restriction, pending extra space.

You can head to [Winter 2014 Computer Science 31 Enrollment](http://cs.ucla.edu/classes/winter14/cs31/) and enter your info; almost everyone gets into the class if they want it.

I’d try to get a PTE for PIC10A first though; CS31 is really quite a bit of work (and if you’re not a CS-minded person, you’ll hate yourself for taking it over the PIC equivalent.)
