Trying to transfer from CSU to UCB Haas- Chance me?

Hi

I am a student currently attending a CSU. I am trying to transfer into UCB Haas with a 3.63 GPA. Although my GPA is not very high, my extracurriculars include 4 years of work experience at a law firm and two consecutive summer internships at Deloitte and Touche, LLP. I have some volunteer hours as well.

What are my chances?

Near zero because Haas almost exclusively accepts CCC transfers.

Like Gunnnn said, not a very high chance. Your GPA is very low for UCB, and you are transferring from a CSU, which gives you low priority. I believe if you apply to other UC’s, you will have a decent chance though!

I can tell you that your chances are slimmer than getting into harvard. It’s simply going to be too difficult to persuade Haas admissions given student actually IN Berkeley are struggling to get in as pre-econ. Aside from that, they have an avg UC GPA of 3.7 and they accept only the top of the top. 50% acceptance rate, so they pick 1/2 students. Chances are, you will not will prevail against a UCB prospect.

I think your GPA might be a little on the low side… Aim for all A’s this semester to boost it up! Your EC’s are impressive - i’m not too sure if they are as important as pre-reqs or GPA, but I’m sure they’ll really sway admissions officers to see you as a well-rounded applicant.

Also, I hear Berkeley actually reads and takes personal statements into consideration during their decision process. I hope you put a lot of effort into them, bud. I’m genuinely rooting for you as I myself am hoping to transfer to a UC from a CSU. Best of luck.
