I'm going to try to transfer to UT from NYU. I currently have about a 3.2 GPA and about 30 dual credit hours that could transfer over as well as some AP's. The only problem is that NYU's gen ed requirements really wouldn't transfer over to what I want to do: biology. This means that I would have to do summer school or load up my schedule and take more hours or take an extra semester of courses. All of which would probably be cheaper than the $56k a year NYU tuition. My question is, what are the odds that I get into UT from NYU? I hear they don't really care about where you are coming from and that a 3.5 from community college would be looked at more highly than a 3.2 from NYU. Is there any truth to that? Thanks

There is no truth to that at all. They will definitely take a good look at you. NYU is a very tough school.

I was also wondering if my dual credits from high school would go towards my college GPA.
