Trying to transfer to Oberlin

Hey, I am a freshman at Union College in upstate New York. Its a good, small lib arts school ranked 37th on the USNews rankings Liberal Arts Colleges. I am thinking of trying to transfer for spring term of next year. I made a 3.8 last trimester and a 1430 on the SAT (800 verbal 630 Math). I am a good essay writer and I am attempting to become more involved on campus. I have a radio show, involved in hillel and a few clubs, play broomball etc. Union is supposedly a good place to transfer from, I know of people who have transfered recently to cornell, georgetown, brown and washu. Last year I applied early decision to Oberlin and was rejected. The letter made it sound like it was a close call and said something about proving myself in college and then trying to transfer if I was still interested. Additionally, my aunt is an alumni interviewer, and memeber of some board or other, and is going to write a glowing letter on my behalf. Any advice as to what I can do to make myslef a better candidate. I have heard Oberlin only accepts maybe 50 transfer students per year, so is what I have enough of a berth, and is there a difference transferring spring vs. fall?
Thanks alot in advance,
Nat from Alabama

I would really appreciate anyones input and advice.

im going to oberlin next year and from what i learned abotu them during the application process is that they really love people, so if u applied early last year and got rejected, maybe if u apply again they will understand that you really want to be there. I suggest you apply! Also, are you good at any sports? My friend had stats that were way lower than yours (1200 sat, 3.5 gpa, 6 aps in high school total ect) and he got in because he was a runner. So try that on for size, you never know how little things you can do may go a long way. Tell me what happens

thanks for your reply
