Trying to transfer to U. of Central Florida

Looking for chances. Right now I'm going to a small, in-state university in PA and am a first semester freshman. I'm anticipating my GPA being in the 2.5-3.0 range due to a crappy start. I'm aiming for Spring 2010, and I should have 36-39 credits by then.

High School GPA: 2.2 (bad)

SAT: 1030/1590
Math: 530 Verbal: 500 Writing: 560

ACT: 26

I'm just trying to figure out what GPA I should aim for to have a decent chance to get in.

Aim for a 4.0.

Go to Summer school and make A's

Do some volunteer work, join some organizations.

Take the ACT and SAT again. This time, study and prepare in every way so you'll score higher.

That should help you out a LOT. Good luck!

Why would I take the SAT and ACT again? I was happy with a 26. Plus I'm not in high school anymore.

A good ACT score will help you out a lot, because a 26 isn't very good. Especially with your GPA being around a 2.5 or so. But that's just my opinion, and you can take it with a grain of sand. Where you are right now, I honestly don't think you'll get accepted.

Maybe you should read the thread "this site is ridiculous", because you're coming off as a stuck-up elitist. Who are you to tell me a 26 isn't good? It roughly translates to a 1200 SAT score, which is pretty good. Not everyone can get 1450 SAT and 34 ACT. We're not all perfect like you.

Get a clue.

Not only that, but I still have 2 semesters before Spring 2010 to raise my GPA.

Stay out of my thread until you grow up.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with a 26. Plus at that point I don't think you even have to submit your high school grades or test scores, although it does depend on the school. Regardless, you won't need a 4.0 to get into UCF. I'm not too familiar with the school, but I would bet like a 3.2 or 3.3 and above would be pretty good.

Bump. Also considering the following schools:

UCF
USF
UMD-College Park

Bump...

Again, Central Florida is the main target, with South Florida and UMD-College Park right behind it.
