I'm a prospective psych. major, but I'm applying undecided, as I am thinking about a degree in social work too.

Does anyone have any opinions of these schools? I need advice pretty badly...especially on the Virginian schools. I'm all for becoming a psuedo-southerner, but I'm not sure about the schools yet.

Northeastern
UHart
U New Haven
Rutgers (I know of their psych program already...pretty good)
William Paterson
Richard Stockton
BloomU
Temple
Drexel
PhilaU
George Mason U
Old Dominion
Suffolk University (they have interesting psych majors, right?)
Virginia Commonwealth
UMBC
Towson

I'm not here to cross out schools based on stats, but on quality of education, reputation, and student interaction/diversity. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Suffolk University is a great school, but be sure you're ready to be apart of a school with no campus, the schools buildings area spread out all around downtown Boston.

Look at the virtual tour to get a slight idea about what I'm saying, but I feel like its an excellent school but has a dwindling reputation because there is little outside of the academics.

Don't know if this helps, but best schools on your list in terms of overall academics in my opinion are: Towson, UMBC, George Mason, Rutgers, and Northeastern. If the others are on your list as safeties, I'd concentrate on narrowing those ones down based on things like social environment, finances, availability of housing, local area, etc.. But, that's just my personal opinion. :)

While Rutgers has a good reputation for its grad psych department you may want to take a closer look at how its undergrad program compares to other schools. See if you can find some undergrad majors at Rutgers and ask some questions. If you are thinking of becoming a psychologist you would want to know about how the department prepares you for graduate school, research opportunities, and internships.
