Tryouts for the Rest of Your Life

I found this NY Times on-line article (from 2008) recently, and shared it via a PM with another CC poster. At the other CC poster's suggestion, I'm linking it here. There's a better than 50/50 chance that you can relate to the protagonist - and his parents! - in the story!

Bumping this … I forgot that I posted this last year, really too late for the “audition season” that DS went through. Perhaps this year’s class of auditionees - both parents and students - can relate.

I remember reading a follow-up to this story, although I cannot remember where it was. The boy who was profiled ended up attending Gettysburg College.

^^ Interesting, out of all those choices! Thanks for this, it was a great help.

oh odd, he’s a friend of a friend!

Ah so glad that’s behind me!

The annual BUMP for this NY Times link! “Break a leg” to all the college auditionees who are going through this process this year.
