<p>Just throwing my personal opinion out regarding winter wear: I think you should definitely make sure to have a hat, a few scarves, and sets of gloves/mittens along with whatever winter coat you go with. </p>
<p>The snow here is generally light enough that I only use wellies with sock liners in them for my “commute”. However, during last year’s unusual storms, I pulled out a few pairs of boots I haven’t used since my Boston years. :)</p>
<p>As far as scarves go–on the downtown mall, there are Tibetans with stands that sell absolutely gorgeous and relatively inexpensive pashmina shawls and very warm lined wool hats (as well as jewelry, sundresses in the summertime, and other items). I like to patronize them; they are political refugees from the Chinese regime who’ve been resettled in Charlottesville by the International Rescue Committee.</p>
<p>While we’re on the subject on certain things at UVA what do you guys think about me bringing a scooter to UVA. One of the razor scooters not the electric things. I know its nerdy, but I actually enjoy scootering. Have any of you that are at UVA seen people who ride scooters?</p>
