Tsunamis

Wondering if it is safer to be out at sea during a tsunami? Deepsea what say you? Have you ever experienced one? I read that the devastating wave wall is formed in shallow water and that mariners hardly feel them?

I was just told the same thing…that tsunamis aren’t a big threat in deep sea. Please say that’s the truth! When I first got news of earthquake/tsunami today, my first thought was all the Midshipmen out on Sea Duty in Pacific right now. I said a little prayer for their safety. My Mid is between Singapore and Sri Lanka now, so he should be out of area of tsunami. Actually got to see him in Dubai last week…for 1 hour and 10 minutes. Hope all of you with Mids out there receive news of their safety really soon.
