<p>I really liked Stangel/Murdough complex when I was at Tech over the summer, despite the fact that it is old. I wouldn't exactly consider it luxurious, but it had a certain quality that I liked. Plus, it's close to Rawls. </p>
<p>Men live in Murdough, Women live in Stangel, and they are connected by "The Market" which is the food court area of that dorm.</p>
<p>Thanks. I have to pick a floor and a room#. That's going to be difficult because I don't visit until April. Do you remember what floor you were on? Any advantage of high or low floors? Even or Odd rooms?</p>
<p>I was on 3rd floor, but I visited a few rooms on 2nd floor as well as rooms on the other side of the hall. They were all pretty much the same. Obviously, the lower you are the less you have to depend on the elevator. </p>
<p>Did I mention Stangel/Murdough has sand volleyball courts? It's a great dorm.</p>
<p>People are picking dorms already?????? Son was just accepted yesterday, and hasn't even begun the honors college application.... I hope they aren't filling up fast!</p>
<p>I think honors program students get their own dorm so there's no guesswork or worry.</p>
<p>I don't want to do Honors but I wanted something close to the Business school. I got in over a month ago.</p>
<p>About 2 weeks after you get in, they mail you an account # so you can sign up for email and housing. </p>
<p>I don't think that Tech Housing is at all like UT's. My friends parents stayed up until 12:01 AM the night dorm applications went online in order to get a lottery number for a UT dorm space. Intense.</p>
