I was on the Tufts website a while ago and remember watching a video saying that a GPA and test score don't guarantee you admission. While I believe this to be true to an extent, what if (cough cough) someone has an ACT of 29 and a GPA of 3.87 UW?

Do they have a "ranking" system like I saw in the video? Can essays and the interview make up for the 29?

Especially for ED 1?

I think that’s what they were basically saying in their blog. They said the applicant has to be strong academically but other stuff helps boost their chances. :)

I’m in the same boat…I have a 32 act and 4.28 weighted gpa so nothing special school wise but I’m hoping my essays and video supplement will help boost my chances. Sigh…I’m so scared for April 1st.

Everything is holistic, meaning that although some things might be more important than others they take your entire application into consideration. They want to see the ‘interplay’ between the elements so nothing can guarantee acceptance or rejection by itself (besides like a 15 ACT or something, of course)
