Tufts and Georgetown

do you guys think I made the right decision to go to Tufts if I want to eventually become a dentist? (I know I can't change anything now, I want to be reassured)

Yes – Tufts strikes me as being stronger in both the life and physical sciences than Georgetown. I can't imagine that G-Town has any advantage (other than being right near DC, which might be a disadvantage in itself, anyway) over Tufts.

well, the average person will probably know more about georgetown, and it's generally more well known (probably an advantage)

Milkmagn -- you have posted multiple threads on this topic while you were making your decision. You have made your decision. Rejoice in it! Don't question it any longer -- it's time to move on to the next phase.

Not as strong, though –*when a dental school looks at you, they look at YOU. But having the best prep you can get (which would be at a school focused on life sciences and research, i.e. Tufts) will give you a better shot. I can't imagine that you'll have, among other things, research opportunities in the sciences on par with Tufts at G-Town.

I knew you would have this problem, almost anybody who made his/her college choice the last minute had this problem.

I would channel all your positive energy toward Tufts, please don't look back. This is not true the average person know more about Georgetown than Tufts. The average person does not know either Georgetown nor Tufts.

I don't think that's really true. A lot of people know about Georgetown because of their basketball team, the fact that it's located right in D.C., and it's one of the best Catholic universities in America.

^Over the whole USA? I know several people in my family that never heard of Tufts nor Georgetown. These are college educated people that don't watch football/basketball. :D

^and I know some people who haven't heard of Columbia...

but aren't you going to college to get an education, not to impress random people in the street with your college sweatshrit?

True. But I'm not the one that is having any heartburn over it. You are. :D

You answer your own question. :D
