Does any know how many did they accept for last year? How many students in the program?
In common application, it seems that there is only one supplemental prompts. (only SMFA), anyone has similar issue?
“All applicants to Tufts will respond to two supplemental prompts. For BFA and 5-Year Combined Degree BFA + BA/BS applicants, the second prompt will challenge you to reflect specifically on your art practice. Click here to find the supplemental essays.”
“applications for the combined degree BA/BFA program totaled 285, an increase from 219 applications.”

for those admitted to the program, can you post your stats?
Hello!! I was admitted to the class of 2023 BFA program and I’ve just recently accepted it.
ACT: 32
Did not send SAT or SAT Subject Tests
Cumulative GPA: 4.0
Senior mid-year GPA: 4.53
AP US History exam: 4
Currently taking 4 APs
Awards: honorable mention for the scholastic art awards 2018-2019 drawing and illustration category (I honestly think this was the kicker since it is SMFA at Tufts that runs it and they knew about it during the application process, I got an email from an admissions counselor)
Portfolio: wide range of mediums, at least half had a long description to describe the meaning and thought process behind the piece
They’re really looking for people who think outside the box when it comes to art and for people who look to other subjects in academia to influence their art, which is why I ultimately am choosing to attend.
Hope this helps!!
ALSO I saw an article that said the anticipated number is 76 freshman in the BFA program, so only freshman will be allowed to use housing on Beacon street. If anyone was curious what the incoming class size is actually gonna look like. https://tuftsdaily.com/news/2019/03/07/smfa-beacon-hill-will-house-first-years-2019-2020-academic-year/
