I don’t want to be a Debbie Downer, but a school in the top 50 is not truly holistic unless it’s D1 and you’re a world class athlete. Tufts lists class rank as a “very important” admissions factor in their common data set. It is important to note, however, that they also view “personal character” as “very important”, something I would say is something pretty unique to Tufts (and pretty rad).
There is nothing wrong with being realistic! There is, however, something wrong with tearing yourself down and beating a dead horse. This whole discussion will be a bit pointless in about a month, anyway
Has this happened to anyone else: last Thursday I was doing a routine check of my financial aid tab to see if they added any new requirements, but when I checked everything was x-ed out. I chalked it up to an error and I waited a day then checked again, and surely enough it was fixed but they added something new, “Dependent Student Verification Form”.
It was a hyperlink, but whenever I clicked it, it led to a page that said “bad gateway” or something like that. So I checked again today and the link is gone :/…
Hey @Ctesiphon for what it’s worth, you sound smart and rational and articulate…I think Tufts would be lucky to get you. I also believe you will flourish no matter where you land…
@Anduar3 The dependent student verification form was something I had to upload to IDOC for Tufts. I haven’t finished all my IDOC requirements yet, but my due date was listed as March 2nd. You can download the form by logging into your IDOC account!
I uploaded my documents on the IDOC system on the 15th of February but for some reason Tufts still hasn’t received the documents. I don’t know what’s wrong and the deadline is coming up. Anyone having similar problems?
^it took over two weeks for me. No worries though, schools see the date uploaded, not the date processed/available.
@GSikka I’m having that problem too. I’m also sort of concerned but wouldn’t Tufts email us if they were really missing something?
I think they know people are still uploading documents so they didn’t want to send an email before finding out that they actually did receive the docs. @lavalamp97 I think it’s just a little bit early to send an email out. I would clarify with them on Monday, at least that’s what I am going to do.
Guys, it specifically says on the IDOC site that they are a little slow right now. They said as of today documents from 2/15 are beginning to be processed. They also say the date uploaded is what matters. Relax.
I wasn’t freaking out, just inquiring to make sure, but either way I appreciate the sentiment
So I uploaded all of my documents the second of February and they’re still not approved/available or anything. Anyone know why this might be?
@reecie569 Me too. But as @jamesjunkers said, they’re processing documents a bit slowly right now. I don’t think we should worry–or maybe I will call.
@lavalamp97 Oh okay, that’s relieving to know. Let me know what they say when and if you call!
This will probably be a stupid question, but bear with me. Tufts says they have not received my mom’s 2014 federal tax return yet, but she hasn’t done the tax return yet. So this isn’t a problem, right?
@lavalamp97 No it’s not a problem. My parents can’t file theirs for another two or so months just because of the way my dad’s business works. They will work with the data they have, so long as you send them last year’s tax return. I would call them just to be sure though.
Send 2013 if 2014 is not available.
Thank you @reecie569 and @jamesjunkers. That’s what I thought.
Tufts is not one of our IDOC schools. Did anyone else apply ED and not see Tufts on IDOC? I did mail everything in to the school…
@redpoodles Yeah apparently many schools take IDOC but don’t show up on the list. However, I think they request it later. So long as the school says they take IDOC, and you have uploaded the documents, they will be able to access them. At least that is what I’ve heard…
Are any of you guys considering the bridge year program (1+4)?
