Tufts Class of 2020 ED thread

@Minnesotagirl12 I would interpret that as the RD acceptance rate, because last year’s acceptance rate was about 17 percent, so that makes a bit more sense. I could be biased though because I really hope the ED rate is higher…

I talked to an admissions officer in October and he said the ED acceptance rate is in the 20s… it’s a bit higher than the overall acceptance rate and RD acceptance rate but not by too much :stuck_out_tongue:

I didn’t interview because I’m not in the states right now…haha.

The ED rate is around 40 percent.

Last year 1,720 applied ED and 671 were accepted according to College Board, so 39%.

Oh oops. Well that sounds a lot more encouraging

The dean of admissions said this in a blog post: “If a student applying early has academic credentials that are on profile and she also submits a compelling application, why wouldn’t a college say yes when she has made a binding enrollment declaration?” I find that it’s a pretty comforting notion. Here’s the link to the entire blog post.

So are we sure we are finding out Monday @ 3? Or is there still a chance that the results may come out Tuesday

the one issue with the early decision acceptance rate is that it includes all of the athletes so it’ll be slightly inflated

How important do you guys think subject tests are? If you have pretty good SAT’s, good GPA, but eh subject tests scores, do you think it will kill your chances? The anxiety is killing me!!! I keep telling myself there is nothing left to do at this point so I should stop stressing, but that’s not going to happen haha

I did an interview! I get nervous about this stuff too but I went with it anyway and I’m glad I did. My interviewer was super chill and it went really well. When I went to Voices the counselors said it really doesn’t matter either way and to only do it if you feel comfortable.

yoooo @everyonehere it will all work out and be okay!!!

The waiting is just simply the worst part haha

I was trying to figure out if I should send my ACTs (33 composite) or SAT (2240 with 690 Lit 690 Math I and 680 USH) and I talked to one of the Tufts admissions counselors and she said that even though my ACTs and SAT compostie scores were virtually equal, I should send my ACTs because the subject tests are low, so it does have some sort of effect, I’m not sure how big. @plsletmeintufts

Hi guys!! I also applied ED, though I’m expecting rejection (GPA too low due to a lack of enthusiasm freshman and sophomore year… the amount of Instagram likes I received definitely took priority over my grades during those two years). I’m not too upset about it, particularly because I’ve already been admitted EA elsewhere and know that I’m at LEAST going somewhere next year  In any case, I hope none of you are too anxious and that you’re able to focus on your finals. Good luck and I wish you all only the best

@rj1997 sounds like we are in the same boat here

@rj1997 @jesr1121 what are your gpas? mine is also fairly low

@jesr1121 @cpd1207 I have approximately a 3.5 unweighted (3.1 freshman year, 3.3 sophomore year, 3.9 junior year, 3.9 senior year) and a 33 ACT. Again, I’m not expecting to be admitted; I applied ED because it was by far my favorite school, not because I had much of a chance to begin with. I really hope the rest of you are admitted!

Any Vietnamese here lol I’m really curious about the size of the Vietnamese pool for EDI. Also can’t really focus on another essay until I hear from Tufts >"< and deadline is 15 Dec

Your grades sound not bad  why do you think you have no chance?

My grades are 42 predicted grade for IB (but it fluctuated quite a bit over the year), SAT CR 730, W 750, M 800, SAT II Math lvl 2 800, Chem 790…could anyone comment on my chances?
