How would full Hispanic (from Spain) with 2260 be seen?
@premstudent, it’s hard to tell but compared to my 33ACT white girl status, you look good. I’m pretty calm about the next 48 hours, now that I know approximately what times decisions will come out (give or take an hour or two, thanks tufts!). Late tomorrow afternoon might be another story entirely. Everyone worked hard and deserves a spot in the class of 2020, but let’s face it, some of us will not get a spot. I’m hoping for the best, I did the best I could do to earn a spot at these schools, so Bring. It. On. Excited to be armed with the results so I can move forward with a decision. Good luck to you all! You are amazing.
Just want to join in with the moping about subject tests… I got 620s on both of mine. Horrible, wish I studied more, easily the worst part of my app, but it’s okay!!
@c77123 tell me about it! As an engineering applicant I was supposed to take Physics/Chem and Math, but I took Bio E (700) and Math Lvl 2 (780) Probably gonna get rejected because of this, especially as an international applicant who needs a lot of aid
I got a really good scholarship from another school that I like, so it won’t be the end of the world if I don’t get accepted, but Tufts was the first school I really fell in love with last year…getting rejected is gonna suck.
I am taking 5 AP’s this year and for the 1st semester i had an average of 97, but i still ended up getting rejected from BC and NEU so i feel like i gave up because i wasted my time.
Trolling this thread and several others for my daughter - +1 for crappy subject tests! But you guys are great and I want to wish you all good results. This is my favorite CC RD thread. I am a Tufts alum and I know you guys would all make fine jumbos. I also know I would never be admitted today! Be proud of all you have accomplished - next year will be so fun regardless of where you end up.
schroscat…good luck with the Tufts decision! Our D is waiting also, on that and Brown. Given the BC and Vassar rejections she’s not that optimistic! Just wanted to say, if you end up at Geneseo you’ll have a great time. The wife and I are alums. Great school, great town. Our D was accepted there, but her first choice school has always been Emerson, where she’s been accepted and will likely attend. With the lower cost the value for the education at many of the SUNY schools has made them super competitive, and Geneseo is one of the best. Hard to find a public LAC!
I got a full ride and honors college from Rutgers (my state school), so even if I got into Tufts, brown, etc it would be hard to justify the price tag over the free education at Rutgers…
While my D is going to Tufts (she was accepted EDI), she was also accepted at UMass (my alma mater - from gthere I went to RPI for my Master’s). I am tired of hearing about this school getting “dissed” all over the internet. Please check the stats. While not a Tufts, it is up there with other state schools especially in NE and is not easy to get into p- check their CC thread.
@CNK624 Thank you so much! Geneseo is a great school; I’m hoping I’ll be accepted to their fellows program
I truly hope every one of you gets accepted - you all have put in so much effort into your applications and hopefully Tufts will recognize that! If not, wherever you are meant to go, you will get there.
Most likely if i don’t get accepted to either Harvard or tufts then I will go to Emmanuel college. I got into their honors program for neuroscience. And then maybe transfer haha.
Yeah I’m most likely headed to Rose-Hulman (biomedical engineering)
The whole process is just a shock, either we become really happy or really sad depending on the decisions, but I am sure we will all grow and strive for greatness wherever we go
I applied early to Yale and was deferred, so I’ll probably end up there if I get in. But if I get into Tufts and not Yale, I’ll have to choose between Tufts and Wesleyan (accepted already), and I like both of them a lot! And then if I don’t get into Tufts or Yale, Wes is the obvious choice.
I honestly love how tufts doesn’t have a core curriculum, at least that’s what they said in heir website, so then I can have the time to study whatever I want and not waste it on classes that I’m required to take and do not like. I like both the arts and the sciences so doubling up on a major would be perfect!
Does this make Tufts better for double and triple majoring? If so, this makes it a much cooler school than I already thought. BC for example has quite a core curriculum.
I want to double major in Math and Physics and maybe a third major in French. Is this too much?
@premstudent haha maybe but I honestly do not think anything is too much if you really want to study it and learn it. Everything really deals with passion so if you are passionate about it, go for it!
Agreed! My D is a frosh at Tufts, and I work in Los Angeles with several UMass alums and have always been impressed by their intelligence and work ethic!
