Tufts Class of 2020 RD Applicants

@premstudent yeah when I toured, most of the students were triple majors, not even lying

My son’s a first year double major and double minor and it’s definitely possible, though it is rigorous.

Oh and by the way, he loves the school.

I guess my dreams of being a Chem/Premed/Psych/PolySci major is possible!!!

If you need me, I’ll be sleeping in the library. There’s no need for me to dorm, considering the fact that I will never be able to leave the classroom. WooohOOO!

@premstudent @marebear16 Tufts has significant distribution requirements. It’s certainly possible to double major, but while it’s not “core curriculum”, it’s pretty far from an open curriculum school. One nice thing is that they take 4/5 AP scores to get out of some distribution requirements. Triple major? I don’t think so.

Hmmm i see, but im just saying its not too systematic like other colleges.

One can definitely double major. It’s a question of majors which have some of the same courses, such as IR and Econ.

So today about 10:00 am I got an email from student services telling me I never completed my financial aid (which is true, but I realized I didn’t qualify.) I was wondering if it possibly meant anything being this close to the announcement, or if any of you had thoughts. Beforehand I also have no recollection of having a Tufts ID

Tufts ID: …

This is most likely not indicative of an acceptance. I had similar messages from BU and I was flat-out rejected, legacy and all. It was a 7-year medical program so I totally expected it but they kept bugging me about financial aid.

Do get on top of this however. Students like me will be taking home your money if you don’t figure this out.

23 hours and 13 minutes left. How will you check your decision?

I will be at home at my iMac, and have Harvard’s applicant portal to the left and Tufts to the right (the only two I applied to RD). and I will refresh both at the same time at 5 PM. I will try my best to have no one in the room so I can do this in peace and tranquility.

I just hope Harvard doesn’t wait list me. That would make the next few weeks so stressful.

@premstudent I have to look at the portals for Harvard, Brown, Yale, Princeton, Tufts, and Dartmouth. I was deferred from Yale SCEA. I have no idea how/in what order I’m going to look at the portals. Any suggestions?

I read about someone who will write the names of schools on slips of papers and pull them out of a hat one by one.

Little excessive but there is an idea. I would do them all at once and just rip the band-aid off completely and at once. Why prolong the pain?

Any idea if a parent who attended the Fletcher School counts as legacy for Tufts?

@premstudent I will open up my tufts and Harvard portal calmly and expect “After reviewing the regular decision pool of applicants, we regret…” I dealt with 2 rejections already so …

hey potential Jumbos! I’m Lucas, I’ve kind of just stalked you guys the whole time, thought I’d introduce myself.
Anyone know what time decisions come out tomorrow?

Hopefully 3, but it could be as late as 5.

@Lukenod Hi Lucas! They come out tomorrow at 5 pm EST I believe.

I’d go with 5PM just to be safe.

My tactic will be to take a long nap before 5 pm so I don’t get antsy.

I am still eating peanut butter sandwiches as a good luck charm. Plus, I found an old picture of my D at the zoo with an elephant. I also saw a map today, with Boston on it. AND, I found a tuft of dog hair on my sock, which is definitely a good sign! Feeling very confident now!

@Lindagaf Don’t be silly and get your hopes up and be very disappointed tomorrow. Just warning you.
