S21 rejected. Very sad.
sorry to hear that. I’m sure you have so many other great schools on your list as well. Don’t let this define you…better news is yet to come.
what were ur stats?
deferred I really hope I can do enough like persuasion and things this winter to get in
same here but it’s okay we must believe that there are better things to come!
suggestions for deferred:
write a LOCI and send to admissions rep to add to file.
update with further accomplishments or awards that may come along.
send another LOR.
have your school advocate on your behalf
I was in your shoes last year and I’m a Jumbo now. Don’t give up hope and while you wait keep an open mind about so many other amazing schools.
My son got deferred ED1 from Tufts yesterday. He’s already drafting his LOCI. When do you recommend sending it? I’ve read everything from right away to not until February.
He can send it right after the break. (they are not making further decisions at this moment) Stress that it is still his clear first choice. Talk about what he has accomplished since his application was submitted -like GPA increase etc. and that Tufts is still his clear first choice and if offered admissions he would not hesitate to accept.
He can send additional LOR after the break… If your son’s school can advocate on his behalf.
Then before the next round of decisions, reach out in a friendly email to affirm continued interest.
A lot of kids don’t bother to do this …so it will help. not a guarantee but at least you gave it all. and if not, another school will be lucky to have him.
This is very helpful. Thank you for the advice!
I emailed my regional admissions rep and he responded so nicely. I really thought after his response that I had a chance. But then it was a long grueling wait, which included having to deposit at another school. Then mid May Tufts called me personally to offer admissions. It was worth the wait!! Good Luck.
