it’s a crazy year! Don’t take it personally. I’m sure you will all land in great schools and will be successful at whatever you do.

ps
my GF just got rejected as well :pensive:

Mad lad. Taking the good with the bad. Tufts said I am not a fit. I wish I didn’t give a sh**. Alas I do, and it will sting for a bit too. A sweet spot school for me. Won’t here dwell or fuel animosity. Good luck to all. Hope you find a great fit.

I feel like it was a particularly competitive year for Tufts-- more at Ivy-level competition than the level of most LACs. So a rejection really means nothing about how qualified you are. Not that it would normally, but now it especially doesn’t.

I hope your son find a great fit somewhere. Dusting myself off as well.

Sorry! This year is hard. My daughter was rejected too with similar stats. I wish she had applied ED. Oh well. Best wishes to your daughter.

Anyone accepted to CS?

My son was rejected by Tufts CS, and just got rejected by Rice. Brutal day.

He was rejected by many Schools for CS including UCLA.

Luckily he was accepted to UCSD CS, at least he has somewhere to go. UCSD is a local college, so we actually save a lot of money. This rejection did not hit us so bad, because we kind of decided that even if he gets accepted, he probably go to UCSD. But still disappointing.

Yes. I think a bunch of well qualified students took the Tufts safety route knowing how crowded the Ivies are this year. Tufts more selective than ever, and I wonder what kind of class they built. What is strange it how much of a black box it is. My stats are very strong, extras, community, arts, blah, blah, blah. Waiting for Reach Schools, Sweet Spot 1 admit, 1 priority wait list out of 4, Safeties 4 admits out of 5. Hope everyone has something to celebrate. Next school up!!

Cheering myself up

@PurpleFaithful it’s my son is applying CS too. I was more worried about him getting into the UCs but some of the privates are proving tough. Sorry about your hard time today.

My son got rejected. Upside down 1450, 3.89/UW, 5 APs the rest honors through junior year. OK ECs, but nothing that stands out. He was always lowkey about those things and did what he enjoyed. Also backed off AP calc this year in favor of basic calc because he’s not interested in STEM and decided to double up on AP History instead of an AP science.

What a brutal, humbling season.

Accepted: UofDel Honors w merit, Muhlenberg w merit and College of NJ.
Waitlisted: Lehigh, GW and Brandeis
Rejected: Tufts
N/A: Columbia

We’ll visit M’berg, next week, but the strong lean right now is Delaware. Go Hens!
