Tufts Early Assurance

I am currently looking at Tufts, Brandeis, BC, and Northeastern for pre med. How many students typically get accepted into Tufts medical school from Brandeis. Any Info would be awesome thanks.

I believe about 50-60 students from Brandeis apply each year. Note that if you are interested in applying, you have to take Chemistry and take at least one semester of Biology and Organic Chemistry plus the corresponding labs. This would mean doubling up on Biology and Organic Chemistry during your sophomore year, a more challenging combination than the alternative (taking Physics with Biology and Orgo junior year).

You apply in February of your sophomore year and then if Tufts is interested, they will interview you. About 50% of applicants get interviews, held during April of your sophomore year. At the end of the semester, if Tufts is still interested, they will ask to see your end of semester grades. They send decisions at the end of June of your sophomore year. I would say around 15 students ultimately get accepted to the Early Assurance Program, although I am not premed so I could be off. Students who do not get accepted to the Early Assurance program may still apply to Tufts their senior year like they would to any other medical school.

Is it binding?..Do I have to attend Tufts med if I get accepted?

It’s sort of pointless to be looking at specific med school admittance statistics for specific colleges.

Why do you care about Tufts medical school admission at this point? You are not even in college yet?

If you go to any of the schools you mentioned, get really great grades and MCAT scores, etc. four years from now, you might not think Tufts med school is good enough for you.

You are shopping for college now, not med school. I understand that that’s your ultimate goal, but you should be looking at a college’s overall med school placement record not admissions to a specific med school.

If a college sends more kids to Harvard and Stamford med schools than they do to Tufts, does that mean it’s not right for you?

I think you’re getting rude.

If you don’t want to answer, then don’t.

Does anyone else know anything?

anyone???..please

Is there anywhere I can find a list of graduate schools that Brandeis alumni have attended?

One of my good friends just got into Tufts Medical even after being rejected during early assurance.
