Tufts Early Decision II vs Regular Decision

Can anyone tell me what the difference is between Early Decision II and Regular Decision?

geoboy, when you apply ED II you are agreeing that you will attend Tufts if you’re admitted. You will be expected to immediately withdraw any other RD applications and decline any admission offers you’ve already received. The only “out” is if you’ve applied for financial aid and Tufts doesn’t award you enough to make the school affordable for your family. This is pretty much the case at any ED school.

If you are in love with Tufts, have visited, and know for sure that you’ll attend, then ED II will let you know sooner, and will tell the admissions folks that Tufts is your absolute top choice. Otherwise, go with RD. If you have to find the cheapest possible cost for attending college, you should also wait for RD and all of your FA awards before making a final choice.
