Sounds good, thank you! I applied to 4 schools in the Boston area but Tufts is definitely my favorite. If that doesn’t work out, I’m honestly hoping I at least go 1 for 4 lol I would be happy to attend any of them
Hey peeps, looking at the ED2 thread from last year, it appears ED2 applicants received an email on Wed 1/29/20 that decisions were available the following Wednesday, 2/5/20 at 7pm. Maybe we’ll get that same email this Wednesday 2/3 for a 2/10 decision? We taking bets? I know apps are up but hoping they don’t bump things out a week…it’s already been a long enough year!
Tuft published an article that says that ed2 decisions will be released early feb. I guess it will vary between the 5th-15th. https://now.tufts.edu/articles/tufts-undergraduate-applications-rise-35-percent#:~:text=Looking%20ahead%2C%20Duck%20said%20Early,Jumbo%20Month%20for%20admitted%20students.
Hi, When will ED2 Decisions release?
Wondering this too.
same here
Will it be this week?
either this week or next week
If same as last year, we’ll get an email with a one-week heads up. Praying it comes this week so as to move the process along for everyone! Good luck all!
I just got an email that the decisions will be out on Thursday the 4th at 7pm est
Woot!
Thank you for applying Early Decision 2 (ED2) to Tufts University. We will be notifying all ED2 applicants of their admission decisions on Thursday, February 4th at 7pm EST. You will receive an email directing you to view the decision on your applicant status page.
Just wondering, how many of you did submit SAT or ACT scores?
I did not, I am worried about that decision though. I only got to take it once in feb of 2020 and my score wasn’t where I wanted it to be so
We did but one thing I’ve read a lot about is that colleges really are taking the ‘optional SAT/ACT’ seriously and are taking the extra steps to really consider the whole applicant - that’s why those essays and such are more important than ever. They really understand that there was even more disparity and inequity in being able to take tests this year. Going optional has results in more BIPOC apps and schools are thrilled to have them - it just goes to show what a barrier they were to begin with. Don’t worry about scores - your decision to apply ED2 will likely help you the most. Good luck!
My D didn’t submit test scores. She only got 1 sitting in Oct 2019, and then had 4 more cancelled last spring/summer. We were on the fence as her score was excellent for a first sitting but still shy of Tuft’s usual 50% mark.
Same here. First time scores were well above middle range in English, but lower in math and no chance to test again. In a typical year she would have improved, but didn’t get the chance. I do think the process will be very holistic this year.
Hey! I was wondering if someone minds checking out my Chance me Tufts ED II 2025 post. Thank you so much and good luck!
Hello, everyone!
I just thought I would follow this thread now that we are getting down to the wire. My son is an American/International student with great grades but no test scores submitted because no tests are offered in our rural area. He was turned down by his EDI school, Colby, but I am convinced that was because of our financial need (and I didn’t feel it was a good fit anyway).
Wishing you all the best of luck!
… and now I’m concerned because I see that many of you have had interviews, which my son did not request.
Hello and welcome! Everything that I have read says that colleges really are taking the test optional stance seriously knowing the hardship that covid created for testing. As you’ve seen, the official word is that not doing an interview does not hurt one’s application and I can’t imagine that having an interview alone would make/break an app. That said, it does help check the box of demonstrated interest. Since ED2 is binding and by itself is a huge show of demonstrated interest, I wonder if interviews may be more important for RD applicants(?). Good luck and can’t wait to get through this week regardless of outcome!
