Looking at last years thread, portal access/updates for some were not available until 7:15pm, so don’t lose it if it’s not updated exactly at 7pm. For everyone here, it’s been great chatting and I wish everyone well. No doubt some will make it and some unfortunately won’t. For those that don’t, maybe there’s a Tufts option lurking out there for RD or waitlist. Regardless where anyone goes you will all receive a great education and have a great college experience. Fingers crossed.
(first time going through this as a parent) can you be deferred from ED2? or is it just yes/no? I get why you could be deferred in ED1 so they can compare you to RD applicants- but at this point they have everything right?
Looking at the posts from last year, there was one person who noted a deferral but going back to 2023 class, I saw none, so to your point let us assume that we’re talking mostly just accepted/denied. That said, last years RD decisions came out on March 26, so admissions still has 7 more weeks to comb through those RD apps, so I don’t think they full know the candidate pool just yet. Maybe (just maybe) there is an ED2 applicant they like but they REALLY want to see how those mid-year grades are? There is going to be so much noise in the RD round with so many apps that I think admissions might really like knowing that someone was ED2 and thus more likely to perhaps accept an RD offer(?)
1:30 hour left
I read somewhere they do not. They compare ED2 to ED2 and RD to RD.
Hang in there folks. Sending positive vibes.
10 minutes left guys, best of luck!

Huh. Clearly no rhyme or reason as to who is rejected and who is accepted. Might as well roll a dice (a 10-sided one).
I regret not doing ED I. ED II is probably harder because most applicants in this pool are Ivy reject.
