Tufts EDII 2025

Can you confirm whether your senior grades are done by semester, trimester, or quarters and how many of those you were able to submit? I wonder if my son was deferred because we were only able to submit 1 quarter of grades so far (2nd quarter is released to colleges next week). ty!

we submitted Trimester 1 grades (all As). It didn’t help. Though the deferral is a little odd for ED2.

My son was accepted and he only submitted first quarter grades, since he hasn’t received second quarter grades yet.

My second quarter grades were received this morning, so I doubt they got the chance to look at them but who knows

Good morning! We did not stay up for the decision (1 am our time), so we just found out…

no SAT
4.00 UW and 4.314 W

I see the trend. Kids who have less than 1500 SAT or test optional are rejected. The most Californian kids may be affected by not being able to take tests. International kids who need a lot of FA get rejected. Typically International kids must pay full.

I am not an international student and yes all my 7 SATs were canceled I could not take it. Terrible that that influenced the decisions.

i also needed nearly a full ride, not sure if that impacted my denial or not though

I am an INTNL student and did not request financial aid at all. No sat and got rejected

Not seeing the trend yet, it looks like kids with and without scores were accepted.

Really? Feels like more kids without scores or less than stellar score got rejected. My son applied without scores, so I felt he won’t have a chance. (He applied for RD)

I felt like a lot of kids this year don’t have good scores if they were lucky enough to take tests. They never know if they get to test even if they study for it. My son always knew that tests would be cancelled, and he did not have any motivation to study for it.

congrats to all those who got in<3!
does anyone know approx how many students applied to tufts ed2 this year?

I’m not sure we’ve seen any break out between ED1/ED2 for Tufts for this year or any previous years.

The challenging thing is that we don’t have a full view of the applicants, what Tufts is seeking as it builds a class, and what it was seeking to fill-in as part of their ED2 round. Outside of hooks/demographics, etc., I continue to believe that essays and recommendations are not only critical, but are the hardest for us to attempt to compare. No doubt an easy alone can make an OK applicant an outstanding one. I’m sure schools are keen to compare applicants from the same high schools as well and could also consider that for SAT/ACT. We had around 15 applicants from our HS. If 13 of those provided SAT/ACT (esp from the same test dates which might suggest a school-based test), then that’s pretty telling for those 2 that did not. (I know that’s not your case, but just trying to see how Tufts might use different data points).
