Tufts Financial Aid - a repeat of last year?

I'm really interested in Tufts University, and I'm applying as a prospective student this year. I was pretty disheartened by the whole financial aid debacle that occured last year, however (though debacle may be too harsh a word, given that the circumstance was out of university control) in which the university dropped its need-blind policy for the last 10% of applicants due to the financial crisis.

Maybe I'm just paranoid, but can it be assured that something like this won't happen again this year? Not just at Tufts necessarily, but at other universites as well?

Nothing is definite. Noone can assure you of that.

I believe that those colleges that have been need-blind by policy will continue to do so. Tufts was not need-blind by policy, but only in practice for the past xx years. Unfortunately, due to their financial condition, Tufts s had to revert to their need-aware, written policy.
