<p>My son was accepted at Tufts but may not go there because of the financial aid. The grant portion of his financial aid was approximately half of what he received from other schools of similar quality (Bowdoin and Colby). As a larger school with more diverse classes and research opportunities Tufts might be a very good fit but I'm not sure that benefit would make up for an additional $30,000 in loans over the course of 4 years. We do plan on meeting with the financial aid office next week. I was wondering if others have had similar issues with aid at Tufts</p>
<p>I believe both Colby and Bowdoin do not include loans in their financial aid packages so therefore grants are higher. Tufts does not have that policy. My son’s FA package from Tufts was spot on with what I expected based on the net price calculator and included about 5K in student loans. My elder son went to a no-loan school so the grant was higher.</p>
