Tufts for a B+ student?

I'm really interested in Tufts because of its size, proximity to Boston, and good social scene, plus their application supplement is really cool (the optional essay)...but being known as the school for "ivy rejects", is it at all possible for a B+ student to get in? I have an unweighted GPA of 3.4 (but I go to a competitive private school, I would guess the average is around a 3.5-- no one has graduated with 4.0 in about twenty years), 2090 SAT, 710 Bio-E and 630 Latin SAT II, and 4's in two AP classes. I plan on applying as a classics major. Thoughts?

Solid shot.
They really love when students show interest, too.

By “showing interest”, does that mean applying early decision? Or going for a visit/interview? Or can I just show interest through my essays and supplement, because the first two are going to be pretty much impossible :(

Why is this? If there’s a problem, talk with an admissions officer. Showing interest with them might earn you some brownie points if you tell them why you couldn’t do an interview or campus visit.

By the way, what’s the problem with applying ED?
