Tufts has named a new president

Oh, that makes me sad, since I’ve read so many wonderful things about the current president.
Does anyone know why?
I hope the new president continues in the same direction, but the overwhelmingly positive views of the current president contributed to our decision to apply for early decision!

@whackadoodle: President Bacow announced his intention to step down in February. The incoming president appears to have a stellar record: [Tufts Daily](http://www.tuftsdaily.com/mobile/next-tufts-president-is-oxford-s-anthony-monaco-1.2417408)

Not an exact quote, but I recall President Bacow saying once in an interview that he felt 10 years was about the right amount of time for a college president to serve – and that’s about how long he’s been at Tufts. We’ll be sad to see him go, but also have high hopes for (future President) Monaco.

Yes, Ispf72, I remember Larry Bacow saying the same thing. I was going to try to track it down. In any event, it was a great 10 years. It was clear from the very beginning that he was a super choice, and he’s definitely a star.

But I’m pretty intrigued about Monaco! He’s a proven administrator, a rock-star researcher (he led the team that found the first gene for language and speech acquisition), and it sounds like he’s a nice guy.

Same here - am looking forward to hearing them both speak at graduation. Seems like only yesterday that we were listening to Pres. Bacow’s wonderful matriculation address!
