Tufts Interview

We love interviews but unfortunately received an email today saying we would not receive due to the volume of requests. Thoughts.

My daughter requested one and I expect at this late a date won’t be getting one. Tufts does get an enormous amount of applications, so not many applicants get interviews even with Alumni in the mix.

@theplacesyoullgo Who is “we”? Are you going on the interviews with your ds or dd? Or are you a school counselor referring to your students?

Also, fyi, my son was admitted without an interview.

My ds. We would never go on an interview with him. He interviews really well so “we” as parents prefer schools who interview.

Did your son request an interview?

You said “we” would not receive. That’s why I wasn’t sure if you were talking as a counselor on behalf of your school. Yes, my son requested an interview. FWIW, the primary purpose of alumni interviews is to keep alumni engaged with the school. They are barely evaluative, if at all.

My D17 requested one and did not receive, but still got in as well. I wouldn’t worry about it. Good luck! Tufts is a great school.

What do Ds and DD mean pls

@Tspice DS - darling son, DD - darling daughter.

Interviews at Tufts are optional, and I would trust Tufts admissions statement that a lack of interview will not affect an applicant’s chances. My son requested an interview, did not receive a response either way, and was admitted ED2 last month.

Thanks, we did regular decision and are still waiting a response.

The lack of an alumni interview will not affect your chances of admission
