Tufts, NYU, others..

An non-genius on CC? No way...

First things first:

2040 SAT - 710 V, 650 M, 680 W - first take and I'm not retaking

740 Math IC, 730 Chemistry

91.9 average brought down by a C in a minor subject, so will go up for schools that recalculate

Competitive school - Bronx High School of Science

Schedule complexity is above average, but not spectacular

ECs:

Russian Club - 9-12 - secretary (grade 11) and president (grade 12)

Varsity Cross Country - 10, 11, 12

Varsity Indoor Track - 10, 11, 12 - co-captain

Varsity Outdoor Track - 10, 11, 12

Volunteer at nurse's office - ~ 100 hours 11, 12

Arista: National Honor Society (huge deal at my school, but not at others, as I understand..)

Worked the summer after freshman year

Had a hospital internship the summer after junior year

Took a Community Health course at a local college over the summer after junior year and got an A

I immigrated to the U.S. from Russia at the age of 10. I'm a permanent resident in the U.S, but am still a citizen of Ukraine and was born in Ukraine as well (not sure if this will help/hurt/won't matter).

I plan to major in Health Science at colleges that offer it and will probably go the pre-med route.

I have MIP awards for track and will be National Merit Commended for the PSAT.

My essay will be good, I guess? About immigration and what not

One of my recs will be amazing and the other one will be just good.

Here is a list of colleges I have so far
Tufts
NYU
CUNY Honors
University of Rochester
Northeastern University
SUNY - Stony Brook

To put some things into perspective, according to my school's statistics, both the average gpa and the SAT score for students (class of 2006) admitted to NYU was sssslightly below my gpa and SAT. The average gpa for students admitted to Tufts 92.62 and the average combined SAT was 2115.

Please comment on my chances at the above schools and whether or not I should add more reaches/matches/safeties. Feel free to suggest schools I might like. I don't like religiously affiliated schools or ones that have a heavy greek scene. I prefer bigger schools, but will look into other options. Please keep your suggestions within a 5 hour radius from NYC.

Thanks!

Anyone? Please????

Bronx Sci is a great school. Schools will certainly notice that.

NYU
University of Rochester
Northeastern University
SUNY - Stony Brook

In at those for sure. Dont know the reqs. for Tufts or CUNY Honors tho.

Hmm, I thought CUNY Honors was easier than NYU. I guess it has been climbing up the ladder.

Anyone else?
