I hate to resort to this to help in making my decision, but I really love both schools, despite their drastic differences. I'm planning to major in English, perhaps with a concentration in creative writing. I love the rural feel of Kenyon, but I also love that Tufts bigger and wonderfully diverse. If anyone has feedback, I'd love some. Thanks!

I don’t know much about Kenyon, but Tufts is a great place.
I personally prefer the suburbs of Boston, the greater breadth of academic offerings, and the superior reputation of Tufts, but this is a pretty subjective process. Some people get tired of rural schools after a year or so, but you might not.
Good luck with your decision.

Kenyon has a renowned English program.
I’m partial to Tufts though. My choice came down to Tufts and a rural LAC. I ended up choosing Tufts. Growing up in a big city, I always pictured myself “going away” for college. To a place surrounded by mountains and lakes and everything I missed out on as a kid. In the end I realized that Tufts would provide me some of the intimacy I longed for without the claustrophobia I feared at the aforementioned LAC. I mean this wasn’t the only deciding factor…there was a huge pro con list involved. I suggest talking to current students and alumni at both schools. I went to an alumni reception in my city and I was sold.

Sorry if I rambled a bit, but best of luck to you!

A bit unrelated, but were you by any chance sitting in the front row of the “freshman experience” section of the Tufts April open house?

Yes!! Were you Mr. Comp. Sci. to my right? My memories are a bit fuzzy, even though it’s only been a couple of days haha

Uh huh, that was me. I hop on here once in a while, and I though, huh, Kenyon, english major…that sounds way too familiar.
