Tufts or NYU???

I know it's a pretty big difference, but anyone know inside info?

I personally disliked NYU's campus, location, size and my general perception of its student body was kinda negative. Also they weren't strong in my field of study.

Yeah, I disliked the fact that there is absolutely no campus. My friend is a Freshman there this year as a pre-law/pre-med or something ridiculous. She likes the courses, but I can tell she's unhappy due to the severe lack of unity of a campus/community. Both are great schools, but I would go with Tufts, unless you're going into the Arts...

or business. NYU-Stern is great, Tufts has no business school.

i think you should decide this by thinking what kind of school you like. i personally dont like, or even hate nyu's type of schoo (no campus, RIGHT in a city etc.), so even though i planned to study business, i didnt apply.

Tufts has a much better reputation.

Back when I was in high school, NYU would not have even been a safety school - no way would my parents have even let me apply. Although admissions might have gotten competitive in recent years, it lacks the reputation and quality of Tufts.

Unless it's NYU-Stern and you want business, go to Tufts.

NYU actually has a better "practical reputation" and travels well around the US. But with the exception of Stern, Tufts has a better reputation for grad schools.

Like everyone else said, it really depends on what type of school you're looking for. If you love to live in the city, go NYU. If you want a traditional college campus, go Tufts.

agreed w/Ph0enix. People think NYU is a good school because they've heard of it - but in terms of academics, if it's not Stern or Tisch, it's not much.
