Tufts overnight visits

Hello - Regarding overnight visits for HS seniors -- Could anyone give us a little more detail on these? For example, are visitors assigned to Tufts students with similar academic or EC interests, or is the placement somewhat random? Also, how long are the visits (i.e. afternoon to following morning)? S. is currently a Jr, but many CC posters have said the overnight visit is very helpful, and it's something he hopes to do.
Thanks

My son went to the overnight last spring, after he was accepted and was trying to decide between several schools(William & Mary, Cornell, Lehigh, Bucknell). I believe it is random, but you could request a certain match. The overnight is what sold my son on Tufts. He really interacted with the friendly students, ate in the dining halls, and was taken to some of the events going on on campus that evening. It gave him a real taste of life at Tufts. Definately worthwhile!

I think that around April, there are so many prefrosh that hope to come for an overnight that Admissions is just lucky to find anyone to host (at least, that's what my RA told me, when I was *****ing about how I haven't been given a single prefrosh and some of my friends have had two already, lol.) So I don't think they'll match up by interests - it's not like a roommate scenario, where you'll be living together for at least a year. However, prefrosh are given to people who asked for them, and to ask for a prefrosh you have to be somewhat social and friendly and enjoying Tufts enough to want to get other people to come here. So I wouldn't worry too much. Everyone I know who hosted prefrosh is pretty awesome.

Thanks, tuftsmom and blurinka--
It sounds like a great opportunity, and the host students are very good sports to do this. In the meantime, S. will head up again this spring for a second visit and a chance to sit in on a class or two. He's really looking forward to it.
