Tufts Phone call

I was rejected RD from Tufts, but they just called my house looking for a parent. Any idea why they would do this? What it would be about?

Thanks

How interesting! I know a girl who was rejected RD from Cornell, but later received a phone call that said, "We'd be glad to take you after a semester when people drop out."

Well I certainly wouldn't take that pity offer. Maybe they messed up...

Hmmm very strange. Maybe they didn't take you because they didn't have room in this year's class, but are inviting you to apply as a transfer later on. Also, it could be that they've messed up and sent you the wrong packet (though I know it's checked at multiple levels and it's not merely a matter of sending the right or wrong letter) Also, it could be that they rejected you for insufficent or incorrect information and would accept you either now or later if you supplied it.

Maybe they're putting you on the waitlist? Maybe they're offering to let you buy a spot on the waitlist? (I doubt they would do that, but I've heard of stranger things)

Also, did your parents go to Tufts? Did they call and ask for an explanation? That may be why they called asking for a parent

why not call them and ask them why?
