Tufts RD 2022

@calijunior22 Speculation is 3/28

does anyone know when it could come out? im gonna cry

wow, relax- either you got in and everything is great or you didn’t and something else will work out- it’s out of your hands and control- no need for stress, as all things in life - it is what it is, nothing more and nothing less

It is hard to relax when you’re so excited and hopeful. I think it’s ok to be anxious and express that here. From what I can tell after being on similar forums for other schools, this is a good place for everyone to ruminate and voice what they are worried about. Soon though, we’ll all know!

This is the last notification I’m waiting on. Fingers crossed

do you guys think its too late to update schools that come out next week? it probably is but i totally forgot, but dont wanna regret my decision to not update later on :///

@listcollegehere what kind of update? If it’s worthy of mention and may totally change a decision, go for it ASAP. I don’t see much harm in doing so unless you’ve been constantly contacting the AO’s.

@listcollegehere I really like this blog post http://admissions.tufts.edu/blogs/inside-admissions/post/should-i-send-it/

Were the others favorable?@concernd4

@Dawala282 thanks for the insight, it’s more of an update on new accomplishments/honors since applying in december

@listcollegehere You should send an email if you feel the need to then. Remember to be very sincere since they are probably extremely busy trying to finalize decisions right now.

Agreed, I also received this email! Do you think not having an interview will cause a disadvantage, even if they say it will not?

@katey27 I don’t think you’ll be at a disadvantage if you didn’t get one, but mine lasted for a good 90+ minutes (alum said in the email that it’ll be under 45) and I think gave a me a chance to consolidate my interest and fit

I emailed admissions yesterday to see if they had a more solid idea of when decisions would be coming out, and they said, “We do not have a specific date as it depends on when the admissions officers are finished reviewing applications and making admissions decisions,” and they said that decisions would be released by April 1st

6 yes 2 no.

Just spoke with admissions
They said next Friday probably before 5

??? I thought someone said 3/28 at 3:00 :frowning:

@jhbof3 that is so late! Thank you for sharing.

D (currently a junior) did not get an interview and was accepted. The conventional wisdom on this, that i think all the schools must abide by, since access to interviews favors the wealthy and/or geographically desirable, is that an interview could hurt your chances if it doesn’t go well, but a good interview generally means little. Most interviews seem to go well, but they can’t have much bearing on admissions, since many students don’t get that opportunity. I think in a lot of ways it’s an excellent time for the student to see how the fit of the school will be for them, more than for the school to let that tip the balance for an admission. .

@Naspy58 I don’t agree that getting an interview would favor the wealthy. The highest population of alumni would be in urban areas that aren’t necessarily wealthy. I can’t see a correlation there. If you live in a totally rural area, sure, the chances of an interview are slim. But, Tufts offered video conference for interviews as well, so that solves the rural location problem. I think with Tufts, there are simply too many applicants and not enough interviewers. The Harvard alumnus who I interviewed with said he was only going to interview one student so he could really focus on my report. The Georgetown alumnus who I interviewed with was too busy last fall, so we had a 7 minute phone call. In both cases, the way the interviewer manages their time also impacts the number of interviews in their area. I live 20 minutes from Tufts and didn’t get an interview. I hope everything you say is true!!!
