Essays:
1) CommonApp - Been through 15+ drafts. About why I want to be a doctor relating to my personal experience. Had it edited by the library media specialist in my school several times... It came out very well.
2) Extracurricular Essay - Theater involvement.. Good
3) Why Tufts? - About the CANNON at Tufts and how it is a symbol of the community at the school...pretty good :)
4) Family - How I have a little bit of each of my family members in my personality.. Good
5) Who are YOU essay - How I love country music although I live in the NorthEast and rarely do you find another lover of country music. How it makes me "different from the rest of the crowd"... Great

6) Tufts Video Supplement.... Somewhat like a "Day in the Life", but focused on how my CAR travels with me. It took a lot of time and effort and I think it came out very well.

Thanks for reading this whole post, if you got this far! Please let me know my chances, in your opinion of course! :)

Thanks so much!

HEY I’m from CT too! Your ec’s are pretty impressive, though you don’t have many academic ec’s that show that you are super-smart… but I think they are good enough as they are. For some reason, when I was reading this, I thought you were a girl… lol idk why though. You look pretty good as it is though!

Though I might add that your subject test scores are going to be weak compared to the rest of the applicant pool

no they aren’t. your chem and math scores are plenty high. your bio score is a little low but i don’t think SATs are one of the most important things to tufts.

Thanks to both posters :). Hopefully the academic EC that I participated in the medical internship, and the CommonApp essay that relates my personal illness to my future career interest will be sufficient. Any other posters greatly appreciated!

BUMP… I had my interview with an alum this evening and it went really really well. He is a doctor who went to the engineering school and I too wish to pursue pre-medical through the engineering program. We really got along and he seemed to really like me. The interview made me like Tufts a lot more and it’s essentially my top choice!!

Any other opinions about my chances please? :)

Congratulations.

There is no point in asking for “chances” any longer. You have done all you can; now it’s time to sit back and enjoy the second half of your senior year. There are a lot of great memories to be made; don’t waste it by thinking about something you can’t influence.

You are obviously a very strong applicant.
I think your SATIIs are fine, because only your Math and Chem scores will be considered. Your SAT CR score is not strong, but i wouldn’t sweat it.
If you have effectively communicated your enthusiasm for Tufts, i agree that you’ve done all you can.
Good luck!

Thanks to both posts! I agree completely :)

you’ve got an amazing chance! however i think you wouldn’t had a much better chance doing early decision. the tufts regular decision pool is known for its “ivy rejects” so you’ll be up against some of the best. you’re a pretty strong candidate though so best of luck!!!
