I'm trying to transfer from Smith College to Tufts and wondering how my chances look. I did two years at Smith but am currently taking the year off to reevaluate what I really want to be doing and where (so, I'd be transferring for my junior year). My high school stats weren't great, but I did better in college, with a strong upward trend.

In high school I took mostly honors/AP and was generally a B student with a 3.8 or 3.9 weighted GPA. I had a 2230 SAT (800 reading/800 writing/630 math) and all 5s on 8 AP exams. My subject tests were 800 (lit) and 740 (US History). I applied to Tufts EDII and got rejected (womp womp)--will this affect my chances as a transfer?

In college I have a 3.75 with a decent upward trend.

First semester: French 101 (A-), International Politics 241 (B+), Early African History to 1800 (A), and First Year Seminar: Jerusalem (A-). GPA: 3.68

Second Semester: French 102 (A-), Modern Africa Since 1800 (A), Intro Study of Women and Gender (B, bad, I know, it tanked my GPA), Jewish Civilization (A-). Sem GPA 3.61, Cum. GPA: 3.64 (bad I know)

Third Semester: Africa: People, Development, Environment (A), High Intermediate French 220 (A), Intro to Political Thinking 100 (A), History of the High Middle Ages (B+) Sem GPA 3.83, Cum. GPA: 3.7

Fourth Semester: Colloquium in Anthropology: Food (A-), Anthropology of Development (A), Colloquium in French: Dream Places, Nightmare Spaces (A), Introductory Macroeconomics (Pass...I got an A in this, really regret pass/failing it, but I thought I would do worse than I did, ugh!), Intro Cultural Anthropology (A). Sem GPA: 3.93, Cum 3.75

ECs: I was a tour guide on campus, worked as an RA my sophomore year, very involved a club to bring undocumented students to Smith, somewhat involved in the LGBT group on campus.

Major: Anthropology (Africa concentration), Minor: Global South Development Studies. I want to get my teaching certification while at Tufts and be a high school teacher, either of French or History.

I know I have 1 great recommendation from my French prof and the other will be good, but not groundbreaking.

So...do I have any chance at all? Let me know if I can provide any more info!
