I am currently a freshman at Loyola College in Maryland. I am looking to transfer to Tufts or another, more academically driven school at the end of my two semesters here. Tufts is my number one however.

Intended Major: Biology/Environmental Studies double major (Loyola does not offer Environmental Studies which is one of my main reasons to transfer)

My High School GPA is about an A- (around 3.6-3.7)(4 APs)
SAT I scores: 1840 (530 CR/650 M/660 W)
SAT II: 500 (Eng Lit) 590 (Bio E) 720 (math I)

During my high school career I underwent chemotherapy for cancer which I was diagnosed with mid-freshman year. I wasn't off chemotherapy until after my senior year and during my sophomore year, I was getting tutored to finish my freshman classes while I was starting my sophomore classes. The college board were also unwilling to accommodate me with extra time so I was unable to finish any section of the SATs completely.
I did manage to become an AP Scholar with Honors, selected for Boys State, inducted into Spanish National Honor Society, State group II soccer runners-up, and manage a very strong set of extracurriculars.

My College GPA as it stands now and as I hope to keep it is about a 3.7-3.8.
I am taking General Chemistry, Cellular and Molecular Biology, Psychology 101, Spanish 101 (I dropped Spanish after my sophomore year in high school to double sciences so I am taking introductory as a refresher), and Modern Western Civilization.

I plan on taking Calculus 1, Organismal Biology, General Chemistry 2, Spanish 102, and Effective Writing next semester.

I am a member of the Black Student Association, volunteer weekly at hospitals in the Baltimore area for 3 hours a week, play "Open Play Soccer" games on tuesday and thursdays from 6:30 to 9PM off campus (I plan on trying out for the soccer team and contacting the coach before applying for a transfer), participated in pre-orientation Outdoor Adventure trip caving, participated in other Outdoor Adventure Trips during the Semester, FE100 which is a first year experience class involving discussions, lectures, and community service with your class, Relay for life, operation smile, Justice Club (raises awareness on various social issues on campus through lectures, movies, etc.), attend service at the First Unitarian Church of Baltimore every Sunday, and other various community service. I am also a member of the National Speleological Society and am working on joining the Baltimore Grotto (caving conservation and trips).

I am in very good graces with my chemistry and biology professors so I will have strong recommendations. I also have no disciplinary troubles with the school.
