Why Tufts – Tour guide told a story about an interdisciplinary aid project engineered by students. Thus, main answer was Tufts’ ‘altruistic interdisciplinary approach to academics’
1st Optional – Why I love coffee. An analysis of the evolution of the drink itself and the influence of coffee shops on Western thought. Why the drink of coffee and the coffee shop actually provides the best atmosphere for learning.
2nd Optional – My mother is Catholic and my father is Jewish. That juxtaposition and how it’s affected my philosophical outlook on life and religion. How I’d pursue a sort of existentialist Judaism at Tufts Hillel
Long – An exploratory essay on the roots of Occupy Together and what it means for the institution of education. Main thesis was two part: 1) The American dream, go to college and be guaranteed a better life than the kid who stayed home, has failed. 2) That economic understanding of education is flawed
I argued (more a leitmotif) in all my essays that intellectual capability cannot is actually WORST measured by standardized tests</p>

<p>Courses: While I may not attach AP to a course, you can assume that the course was taught at least at college level. Senior Year – Writing Politics (what it sounds like), Statistics, European History, Encountering God (theology), highest level of French. Junior Year – 1st Semester: Human Geography, Precalculus, Crossroads in American Identity (English course on the “American Dream”), US History, second highest level of French. <p>Goodfit…Athletics are not big at Tufts at all except for the students that play and their parents who are usually the only ones in the stands watching the games. NESCAC is a very competitive conference but it is the education that your D will receive (if she takes advantage of it) which is the most important thing she will leave Tufts with. I hope she takes full advantage of all that the school has to offer her.</p>

The second half was reserved for questions…and since I’ve been on two tours at Tufts, gone to 6 info sessions in my area, and have talked to several students extensively about tufts, I really didn’t have much to ask her. She graduated a while back, so it was hard for her to relate to campus life now since things have changed. Seems to me that interviews are only important for Tufts if you haven’t really demonstrated much interest in the school in your app and want to learn more, or prove to them why you’ve applied.</p>

I made an effort to get acquainted with the school, and I made my optimistic and interesting personality stand out in my essays I guess?
[li] Where else were you accepted/waitlisted/rejected: accepted to Tulane? But no intention of attending…found out decision a month before Tufts, and it was a rolling decision (safety). General Comments: I know that this is a bit late to post, but I wanted to get it out there for any future applicants applying to tufts. I really had doubts about whether I was going to get in because of my GPA, I’ve never had perfect grades but I took the most challenging classes I could and managed to get the best grades I’ve ever gotten during my senior year, though still not perfect. If you’re working hard, I promise it’ll show through.</p>
