I feel like being an athlete would only help though! Best of luck!!
Same situation aldis000
@aldis000 @nikhildas17 I’m an athlete too! I’m worried about it too haha. The coach told me there are no guarantees for any recruit in my sport, so we’re all at the mercy of the admissions office. Good luck! I hope I’ll run into you at some point in Cousens Gym next year
@kwnstandina Yeah, being an athlete helps, unless we get a little too cocky/overconfident and wrote trashy essays because “I’m a recruit, who cares” or something stupid like that.
What sport do u guys play ? I play tennis. Also if u got a read from admissions and u turn out A band then u should be good without support. If ur b band then u need full support from the coach.
But wait, that means if I’m A Band- I have no better chance than any other student with similar stats but if I’m B Band the coach will help me? That makes no sense. So I will get no help and it’s just a crap shoot for me but for someone who may not have as high scores/grades the coach will give extra support? Seems odd
And also, does the fact that I didn’t ED 1 count against me, even tho coach said they were ok with it at the time?
Aagghhh!
I am so nervous I am going to implode :c
You guys think it’ll be today?
What you say: wow today is a great day
What you wanna say: I have a JUMBO amount of stress right now. I might just self-destruct because of how TUFTS this whole admission process is. From a scale from one to even, I literally can’t right now. Send help.
@nikhildas17 Sailing! Lol. Didn’t get a pre-read
@jellybelly1234 That doesn’t sound right. I think it’s like if you’re A-band you’ll get support but you don’t need as much of it as a B-band, who needs more support than you to be as competitive of an applicant versus the rest of the pool.
About ED1 vs ED2- I don’t think admissions cares. ED2 is still binding, after all; it’s the same commitment, just a bit later.
I hope you’re right! My worry is the fact that there are so many less spots for ED2 (at least according to what I’ve read.)
Just wondering if that means what may have been likely acceptance for ED1 is now off the table. Did any coaches discuss this point with any of you other athletes?
I did get a pre-read btw- but for ED1 and it was great. Didn’t get in to the Ivy I ED’d to tho- so here I am
So scared it’s crazy. That 100 spots projection has really shaken me up!
That is my life lol @AwkwardMortal
I KNOW!!! I bet that they will accept more than 100 people! @jellybelly1234
Does anybody know how many people applied ED2 specifically? I couldn’t find any stats on it
I wonder if they might admit some of us, but break the ED agreement and consider us early response RD students… Either that, or they might just defer a bunch of us who they’d like to admit, and then admit us in a few weeks. Fingers crossed for the first option!
Can they do that?!? The first thing you said? Have they done that in the past?
I don’t know if they can, I’m just speculating!
