Tufts University Early Decision II

Hey guys! My name is Laura and I applied Early Decision II to Tufts. This is a thread where all of us EDIIers can get to know each other and support each other for the next agonizing 40 days.

My name’s Dahlin who is also applying EDII. Also, when do decisions come out? The two dates that I see most are February 1st and February 15th. Hopefully its the former.

Ahhh!! I know…we EDII people do have a crazy 40 (well, 39 now) days ahead of us. And @DJacks it’s February 15th when we get our online TAMS decisions. YIKES. I know I’m going to be hyperventilating every second on that day (Hell, I’m even hyperventilating now, just thinking about it! :))
I hope the Tufts Admissions Office likes the fact that my full name is REALLY long and weird…is that a hook?
Good luck to all of us! Fingers crossed that we all become Jumbos!
Any other prospective EDII Jumbos willing to say something?

Hey guys, what majors did everyone apply for?
I’m chemical engineering :)

My major is Psychology and I plan on being in Pr-Med. And thanks DesiCollegeGal. I wish it was Feb. 1st though :(

You’re welcome @DJacks and I know, Feb. 1st is way sooner and it would be nice to know earlier. To the OP: Double major in biochem & political science.
Bump! Anyone else?

I’m an EDIIer as well! IR major. Most likely no shot, to be honest, but I do hope I get in. Now just worrying about my second term grades  (such as my Euro paper due in approximately 7 hours… yikes!)

@diana2012 I’m sure you have a great chance. :slight_smile: Don’t worry!

Anyone else? I’m getting so anxious…only 31 days now before the TAMS decision!! This is getting nerve-wracking.

To the EDIIers, what made you love Tufts? Let’s all post our reasons here!

My turn: I like Tufts because of it’s active citizenship doctrine, and the campus is simply warm, supportive, close-knit and gorgeous. It has a wonderful combination of a great biochemistry department and a “feel-at-home” atmosphere. Sigh…

Anyone care to share? :)

I absolutely loved Tufts by the time i was approximately 15 minutes into the Engineering open house. What really struck me was how much everyone on the campus obviously loved Tufts and how supportive they were of each other. It didn’t have the cut-throatedness that one would expect from a school of its caliber. In fact, one of my tour guides was a BME major and said that since there were only 15 a year, her entire year would get together and study. That’s the sort of environment I want in a college.

Does anyone know the E.D ii acceptance rate vs. E.D. I

Laura-- same! Tufts has the best atmosphere, and everyone just seems so excited. That’s sort of what I wrote about in my why Tufts.

Where else did you guys apply? I’m desperately working (read: procrastinating) on some last minute Jan 15 ones right now. I think my second choice is Brandeis.

I also applied to RPI, WPI, Uconn, Virginia Tech, and Northeastern. My second choice is wherever’s cheapest. Good lock on your procrastinating!

The schools that I am applying to,from 2nd choice to 9th choice, are UM, UCLA, UCSD, University of Richmond, UF, UCF, USF, and FSU. I like both Tufts and UM equally its just Tufts gives way better financial aid benefits whereas UM is mostly merit-based.

My other choices are BC, NYU, Brandeis (Same with Diana on Brandeis being my second choice), RPI, Mount Holyoke and MIT (LOL about this one…worth a try anyway!!) I already got into UVM as a safety (But I really don’t want to go…:/)

Fingers crossed on being a Jumbo!!

Sent from my Desire HD using CC App

I’m doing lucky 13: (in rough order of preference)
Tufts
Brandeis
Barnard
BU (hopefully honors college?)
GWU
BC
Mount Holyoke
Bryn Mawr
Smith
American
Northeastern
UVM (accepted)
UMass (accepted…ugh please god, no)

Laura-- totally agree, money is going to be the deciding factor for me. I’m so stressed about paying :frowning:
Desi-- hahaha we have so much overlap! I wasn’t sure about Mount Holyoke (or any of the other women’s colleges) but they were free to apply to, so I went for it.

how late did you guys submit? I’m quite a bad procrastinator… Brandeis went in at exactly 11:59 last night, not one of my finer moments :P

Nice Diana… :stuck_out_tongue:
My school requires you to send in your application 2 weeks in advance or they wont send your stuff on time… so even though I am a huge procrastinator I didn’t have the oppurtunity to procrastinate.

Hey y’all
I’m a EDII applicant for Tufts too.
The other schools I’m applying are Northwestern, Smith, USC, UM, Amherst and Princeton [Not even hoping but well worth a try though d:]
I got accepted to UT Austin and UHouston already but well, top choice is still Tufts all the way.
The reasons why I love Tufts? Seriously, I can go on forever with this, but since everybody almost said exactly how I feel, I got something else to share with you guys.
Just found out about this a few days ago, one more reason to love Tufts (:

[Tufts Film Series | Free Movies. Big Screen. Every Weekend.](http://www.tuftsfilmseries.com/)

@laura-- ah that’s so weird! in a way, i kind of wish my school made us do that. would’ve eliminated a few sleepless nights, for sure.

Worst part of all this is that I live super close to Tufts and hang out in Davis Sq or on the library roof all the time. If I get rejected, there goes my #1 chill spot… it would just be too depressing :(

Fellow EDII here. Just wondering why some of you applied ED2 as opposed to ED1?

Well, I think I fell in love with Tufts a littler later in the admissions process, and decided it was my top choice in December of this year. That’s why I did EDII!

@HPDaKing I LOVE Harry Potter!! Potterhead FTW! Lol!
