Which aspects of Tufts' curriculum or undergraduate experience prompt your application? In short: ''Why Tufts?'' (Suggested length is 50-100 words.)

Analyzing my resume, my counselor suggested me to apply to Tufts University. Knowing the intense academic performance that Tufts demand from its applicants, I was surprised to hear from the counselor, who was informed by its representative, that Tufts University highly values students with strong dedication to their communities. Interested by its preference, upon my research, I was attracted by Tufts diversity in Public Service Opportunities, study abroad program, and professors who are dedicated their undergraduates. Even by skimming through some of the information, I could already feel Tufts University's unique kinship and environment and convinced to be its student!

2.There is a Quaker saying: ''Let your life speak.'' Describe the environment in which you were raised-your family, home, neighborhood, or community-and how it influenced the person you are today. (200-250 words)

Due to my parents who worked tirelessly to support me, I had spent most of my afternoon alone in my childhood. But mirroring my daily routine, I tended to prefer privacy rather than publicity. Soon this personality impacted my academic life along with Koreas excessive and primary focus on the four basic subjects: math, history, science, and literature. Enjoying hand-on experiment, I was dissatisfied with schools heavy reliance on textbooks and tired of school system. Worried about my future, after hearing about the diversity of American education, my parents sent me to my uncles house, Olympia, Washington.
I, who never had moved school nor lived outside of my home, was confused with new culture and life. Yet, received new family who stays with me regardless of the time, I began to learn about the house manner and importance of family orientation. And as my uncle started to host the foreign exchanged students, among this group, I acquired valuable experiences of social life and tried to embrace great traits of each student I met. Naturally, engagement with variety of people became my usual habit, and I volunteered myself to serve in different institution by taking jobs from simple chore to treasury duty.
The word gregarious defines me and has benefited me. Willing to utilize this catalyst wherever I go, I thrive when I share and obtain new experiences through the people and communities around me. With the wealth of programs in Tufts University, I will broaden my role in the society.

What makes you happy? (250)

I know that my concentration lasts for about 2 hours; I can neither sit in the chair nor stay in my room for two hours just doing one subject. But when it comes to composition, I stop caring about time. Ironically, I can neither automatically play the notes from sheet music nor command my left fingers to move asymmetrically move with right fingers. Yet, the harmony of different instrument raises my heartbeat and variety genre of the music always allures me.
Able to play notes by hearing and distinguish the layers in harmony, I spend my spare
time recreating music with my own style and find the musical techniques through hand-on experiment and experience; for instance, by rearranging the chords, I found the way to compose and apply the melody for various songs, the jazz scale for different chords, and method to set the diverse mood by using flat and sharp harmony. Such discoveries made me very happy and intense my passion for music.
Yet, I am aware of my boundary in musical education and want to expand on it. Upon this consideration, I was amazed by courses offered in Tufts University such as Music Recording and Production and Composer of the Year. My previous band teachers have neglected my interest in composition and restricted it by demanding me to just play the note on the sheet. In Tufts University, by minoring in music, I will embrace and apply all the learning from Tufts University, solidifying my devotion to music.
