A comparison of these colleges would be really helpful based on the following criteria, aside from the academics;
Dorms:
Parties/Social Life:
Food:
Atmosphere:
Attractiveness of Student body:
Thank you so much! If you can only fill out for one that’s fine.
I don’t know anything about Emory, but I’ll tell you everything i know about Tufts!
Dorms: It varies; they’re being renovated gradually, but the freshman dorms, especially South, are fairly spacious and nice. Some of the freshly renovated dorms are gorgeous. Tufts has a lottery system, which can either be heartbreaking or incredible, depending on your number! By junior year, many students move off campus to rowhouses that are very, very close by- like, you can see them from the campus. These are way, way more spacious, and they’ll give you the opportunity to go to/throw house parties.
Parties/Social Life: Boston is great for parties because if you ever get bored of the frat parties at Tufts, MIT’s incredible parties are just a few T (subway) stops away. Boston also has great nightlife/bars once you turn 21 (don’t try a fake id in this city…most of the bars are very perceptive when they card, and they can spot a fake from a mile away). Most of the parties on campus are frat parties. Tufts isn’t a huge party school. Once you’re an upperclassman (or once you make upperclassman friends), house parties can be very fun.
Food: AMAZING. Tufts pretty consistently is in the top five in the country for food. Lots of options, especially if you’re vegetarian.
Atmosphere: I don’t know what you want here? The word most often associated with Tufts is quirky. It’s overused, but definitely true. Tufts students study hard, but they’re also really diverse and interesting.
Attractiveness of Student Body: Sorry Tufts…but you’re not going to win over Emory on this one. To be honest, I think Emory and Tufts would be in similar boats. I would say that it’s uncommon for tip top schools (except perhaps the Ivies) to have large swaths of beautiful students. Again…sorry, I don’t mean to be offensive, but I’m being real here. If you want pretty people, go to ASU.
