Hi
I got into both these universities and am confused as to which one i should join.
I got into the electrical engineering department at tufts with a 50% fee waiver. nothing for NTU.
HELP??????????????

I'm going to Tufts to do Economics and IR. I don't know about the quality of the Engineering course there, but even with a 50% waiver you will be paying a lot more for Tufts (I'm assuming you're Singaporean).

Despite that, Tufts is a great place, so come.

Tufts >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>.NTU

Ntu is not even close.

I would agree. Although TUFTS engineering is low ranked, its still one of my dream schools

Engineering is NTU's strong point.
Tufts is an awesome school, but, their Engineering just isn't as good as NTU's.
I would recommend NTU.

i would choose NTU as well....

NTU over Tufts for engineering

Thanks all you guys....
The only question in my mind is that NTU is recognised only in the research circles and doesnot have a market value as maybe TUFTS has(talking about the univ name here..)
So the question is which degree will give me a better standing in the job market internationally..
By the way i am an Indian, currently working for wipro technologies ,chennai

uve applied for post grad?

Hey ..

I have got admit from NUS School of Computing for M. Comp. in Information Systems...
Also also from School of Management from SUNY Buffalo for MS in Information Systems...
No aid anywhere ..
Which univ should I go for ? .. I am from India....

u know...u don't need to mention that everywhere. Uve already created a seperate thread for it.

Yah true...
sry for the inconvinience caused buddy...
was jus getting used to the interface of the website...
new here ...
So wht do u suggest .. NUS or SUNY Buffalo ? ,, n y ?

NUS is the choice for your course as the faculty and research experience which is there is world renowed and the cost of getting a world class degree is also 1/3 of that in USA..(whichevr school u go to for your course)

It's not easy to gain admission for Tufts. period. On the other hand, it's ridiculously easy to get NTU with mediocre grades. Who cares if NTU is renowed for engineering. How many ppl(other than Singaporeans) ard the world actually know that?

For the latter, NUS> SUNY Buffalo

I have applied for post grad to tufts and ntu. Please keep the inputs coming in as it would be of great help for me to make my final decision

I am not so sure if it's 'ridiculously easy' to get into NTU with mediocre grades for international students... though it is very well the case for Singaporeans.
