Tufts vs. Kenyon

I am seriously planning on majoring in English, perhaps with a concentration/minor/whateveritscalled in creative writing. I love both schools respectively, but I'm a little afraid Kenyon might ultimately be a sort of fishtank environment. Kenyon also has the superior English department, however. If anyone has advice or an anecdote to sway me one way or the other, input is greatly appreciated!

Also, I was just wondering if there was a noticeable divide between the grades at Kenyon. It’s really important to me that seniors, junior, sophomores, and freshmen can all intermingle.

I was also torn between Kenyon and Tufts (in my case it was which school to apply ED to) and it was really my visit to Kenyon that swayed me in the end. I was also concerned about the “fishtank” feeling but I was entirely engaged and captivated for the 3 days I was there. There were so many things happening on campus that I barely noticed I was in the middle of nowhere. I don’t know about a clear divide between grades, but I noticed that all the students at Kenyon definitely intermingle to a certain extent. If you haven’t visited Kenyon, you should definitely try. I hope this helps a little bit! Good luck with your decision.

Thanks, that really makes me feel better about the whole situation! I’ve visited both schools, but I’m going to Kenyon again this weekend to have it fresher in my mind so we’ll see what happens!
