Tufts vs. Northeastern Engineering

Ok, I've been reading every possible thread on this forum for days and I don't think I could possibly think about this anymore, so i guess the next logical step is to pose this apparently much discussed question again.

Tufts v. Northeastern Engineering?

Ive gathered that Tufts is generally known as better academically than NEU, but NEU's engineering program is more distinguished. I read that the latest USNEWS report puts Tufts on top, but only by a slim fraction and that this has changed from a few years ago.

I really like the co-op program, but I also don't want to feel like I'm in a "dumber" school (and to refute any controversy, I feel that I am on keel-academically with both of these schools, not to generalize one as stupid and one as smart).

Also, upon reviewing the "middle 50% SAT scores" from both schools of engineering, I found that I'm a little higher on the NEU side, and a little lower on the Tuft's side

After visiting both and liking both campuses (I think Tuft's is a bit nicer but NEU is closer to midtown Boston, which is a plus), which is best for engineering? Any help is greatly appreciated!

(Or, coincidentally, should I just ditch both and scramble to BU?)

Middle 50% SAT scores for something like engineering that's so lopsided toward math and away from language might be a dubious metric.

I have to say that I'll go with NEU...I mean, the engineering school in NEU is certainly one of the most premier. And not to put anything against Tufts, I mean Tufts is great in Liberal Arts and it certainly is rising in engineering field, but I have to place NEU above Tufts in engineering in specific.

hmmm, thanks... which school has a better reputation for engineering traditionally? following the rankings, tufts has been on the up-and-up lately, no?
