Hello,I really need help deciding on a college...
I will be majoring in biochemistry or biology, with a minor in English or History, on a pre-med track. Research is a very important part of my decision, and I have a lot of experience from high school already. Where will I get more opportunities for higher-up research positions (not just a simple assistant to a graduate student)? Also, which school is better for pre-med? Any thoughts on opportunities such as courses, research, study abroad, etc.? Any insight would be appreciated! Thanks!

First, I would just point out that the decision comes down to RPI and NYU. Sorry, Tufts ran its course. RPI is by far the safer choice when it comes to research and stability NOW. I have to point out though, that NYU has recently purchased 2 research Universities within NYC and are planning to compete with such “research” universities as MIT and Harvard. You would most likely not be seeing the benefits of this acquisition right away; however, you would be hoping that by the time you graduate, the university is a renowned as those previously mentioned. I for one havae faith in such an advancement, because NYU is really becoming a top tier university. It also recently purchased Poly which now enebles NYU to offer an engineering program-- also making it able to compete with RPI in terms of engineering prospects.

StudyAbroad= NYU. Almost 95% of students study abroad for at least one semester. NYU has portal campuses in Abu Dhabi and Shanghai, Tel Aviv, Madrid, Buenos Aires, Accra, Sydney, Paris, London and Prague. Not to mention the ability to take classes at ANY accredited university across the globe. University of Amsterdam here I come!
