Tufts vs. Swarthmore

biomaster,

I have a D who double-majored at Swat in music and another major. She was thrilled with it. The closeness of the music department was especially vital, and several of the profs remain her close friends. She did hope to study abroad one semester for her other major but was not able to because of the sequencing of the music theory courses . . .the department's size does not make it possible for them to offer every course every term. You might want to look at that. I also have heard that the biology classes are some of the most intense and largest. Still, the Swat experience, (and the pass/fail first term) make the transition workable. My D had a great time, a very full social and musical life at Swat. When she left there I sincerely felt she was ready for anything.
