I got accepted to both, and I'm leaning towards Tufts. It seems perfect...international relations, study abroad, diverse student body, close contact with professors, Boston...

But it's almost too perfect, and I'm questioning it. All of my classmates keep reminding me how "cool" Vanderbilt is, how hot all the women are there, how it's so much fun with so much school spirit, how the South is the best place ever...

Someone convince me I'm not crazy. I love Tufts, but I feel like I'm only 90% committed, not ready to send in the deposit yet...

please don't go to Tufts so i can get in (waitlisted) lol.
hahah but seriously. I applied for IR also and Tufts has a phenomenal program for that. Not so sure about Vanderbilt but it seems more like the research university type. Have you visited both?

cuz.....visiting will definitely help give you a good gut feeling which is right for you.

i visited Tufts and i knew that was the place for me. not everyone gets that so you'll just have to see.

I visited Tufts, and loved it (though I never imagined I would actually end up there!). Didn't visit Vanderbilt.

Hey there,
First off congrats on your acceptances!
I'm from Texas and for the past 4 years about 30 people who I've gone to school with now go to Vandy. Most of them absolutely love it and I think it says a lot about the school... But most of them would never want to leave the south. If you are not from the south and are really considering going to Vandy, I would seriously suggest you visit the school. I am not a huge fan of Nashville and would never live there but I am sure there are people who would say the same about Boston. Also, if you are wanting to pursue IR I would say hands down Tufts would be the way to go. But, majors change very often and ultimately you should be at a place where you will be happy.

Good luck with your decisions
